Located in the heart of Downtown Marshall, the award-winning Marshall District Library continues a tradition of over 140 years of public library service to the greater Marshall community. Serving a population of 14,900 residents in Calhoun County, Marshall District Library is tax supported by the residents of Eckford, Marengo, Fredonia, and Marshall Townships and the City of Marshall. Marshall District Library opened the doors at its current Green Street location in 1998 and recently renovated its 18,000 square foot facility in 2016.

Marshall District Library strives to be a welcoming, interactive community learning center through its programs, services, and collections. Marshall District Library partners collaboratively with a number of local organizations and businesses to provide information, events, and outreach in the community.  Particular areas of focus include: early literacy programs, after school engagement activities, technology access and training, genealogy and local history research, and lifelong learning events.

Library services include:

·         A physical collection of more than 60,000 items include books, audio books, DVDs, Music CDs,             magazines, newspapers, and media kits.

·         Downloadable books, audio books, and other media.

·         Free Wireless Internet access, public computer access, Hands-on Technology Petting Zoo, printing, and scanning.

·         One-on-One Technology Help, Drop-In Tech Times, Technology Classes

·         Wireless Hotspots, LCD Projectors, and Other Equipment Circulation

·         Local information, General Research Assistance, Reader’s Advisory, Genealogy and Local History            Research (Digital newspaper archive from 1838-2011.)

·         Meeting room spaces, notary services, and exam proctor services

·         More than 60 educational and recreational programs each month for all ages.
