Grand Opening of Heritage Commons Senior Enrichment Center Celebrated by MAEDA

Marshall Area Economic Development Alliance and Chamber (MAEDA) proudly announced Heritage Commons Senior Enrichment Center as a new Marshall Chamber member with a presentation at the grand opening on July 18.

MAEDA, the MAEDA Board, Marshall Chamber Ambassadors, and members of the community joined in celebrating the grand opening of Heritage Commons Senior Enrichment Center along with Carewell Services SW CEO Karla Fales, Carewell Services Outreach Specialist Kitty Knoll, Steering Committee President Mike Bearman, Calhoun County Senior Services Rodna Stealy, and Mayor Jack Reed.

Heritage Commons Senior Enrichment Center was developed by a partnership between the City of Marshall, Oaklawn Hospital, Calhoun County Office of Senior Services, and Carewell Services SW, to give older adults a venue to socialize, participate in enriching activities, and access health and wellness services. The Center offers meals, classes, exercise programs and a place to gather and socialize.

“We are proud of the cooperative effort that brought this center to fruition,” stated Carewell Services SW CEO Karla Fales. Steering Committee President Mike Bearman added “we will strive to honor our mission statement as we provide services and move forward. Our mission statement is, Heritage Commons Senior Enrichment Center is a gathering place for older adults to participate in activities and access resources that promote their well being.”
