Stitch Upon a Time celebrates grand opening

Marshall Area Economic Development Alliance (MAEDA) celebrated the grand opening of Stitch Upon a Time with a ribbon cutting ceremony on October 24.

Stitch Upon a Time is not a new business since owner, Jennifer Getter-Bahmer has successfully run the online store for many years. Jennifer designs original sewing patterns, which can be purchased and downloaded from her online store. High-end fabric, notions, and sewing machines can also be purchased through StitchUponaTime.com.

“I decided to open a brick and mortar location since selling online is solitary and I missed working directly with customers.” explained Jennifer. “This school will allow me to focus on teaching and helping others to find the joy in sewing.”

Stitch Upon a Time offers four levels of scheduled sewing classes that will appeal to beginners but also those who want to advance their skills to the next level. The drop-in Sewing Café will allow customers to stop by and use the sewing machines and workshop space to create their own projects every other Friday. Jennifer has been sewing since childhood and is excited to pass on her experience, knowledge and passion of sewing and fabric.
