In December 2016 Marshall became one of 13 Michigan communities to receive certification from the Michigan Economic Development Corporation that indicates it is qualified as “thoroughly prepared” and has established a solid foundation to attract private investment.
Marshall has put in place planning and zoning policies and procedures, along with other key features, that remove traditional barriers and promote opportunities for prospective private investors. Certification as a Redevelopment Ready Community demonstrates a community follows economic development best practices. The program also evaluates and certifies communities that integrate transparency, predictability, and efficiency into their economic development practices. Source: MEDC, secondwavemedia.com
