Tourism Mini-Grant Funding Request
Choose Marshall may provide funding for matching funds to Chamber Members who wish to purchase seasonal decorations to visually enchance downtown Marshall.
The Program’s goal is to provide matching funding to Chamber Members who wish to purchase seasonal decorations to visually enhance downtown Marshall.
Please submit your application with estimated costs, do not purchase items you wish to be considered in this application without prior approval. Choose Marshall is unable to fund projects retroactively.Choose Marshall/MAEDA will review each application and a staff member will contact you regarding a decision. Please allow adequate time for the process and review, generally 30 days. Requests will no longer be accepted after Marshall’s Tourism Mini-Grant Sponsorship budget has been exhausted for the fiscal year, July 1 to June 30.
Funds will be awarded based on the following criteria:
- Matching funds shall promote cultural vitality and tourism in Marshall by attracting visitors to our community.
- Decorations must be used to decorate public entrances (doorways or windows), this includes a public entry into your business from the back door or alley. Decorations must match the Marshall aesthetic of beauty and charm.
- This grant does not cover permanent facade improvements such as store signs, paint, new windows or doors, etc.
- Seasonal decorations can include, but are not limited to: sidewalk planters, faux florals, lighting, indoor/outdoor window art or displays, holiday decorations, and flags. Priority is given to reusable decorations.
- The business, organization, or individual requesting funding must be an active member of the Marshall Chamber.
- A matching cap of $1,500 is established per business, per year for this grant. A business may apply for additional funding until they reach this cap every year. Businesses must pay for half of the cost of the project.
