As with many a magical story, the story of Bewitching Peddlers of Halloween is one steeped in friendship, deep tradition and the love of Halloween.  On September 29th, 2018 the annual show will enchant the town of Marshall, MI. The one-day show will bring wonderful offerings making for a day of Halloween merriment. The show will host an artist meet and greet with the unique opportunity to meet many of your favorite well-known artists in one location on the evening of September 28th details to follow on the website. The show takes place on September 29th from 10am-3pm with a special early buy event scheduled from 8am-10am. The show has come to mean so much to the collectors and artists alike. Each year, the very best within the genre of fine Halloween art are extended invitations to the show. For the 2018 show, over 40 artists from 17 states will travel with their offerings to historic Marshall, MI.  This hand curated group is a gathering of people who believe in Halloween art. They feel passionate about the work and it makes no difference whether the spell is cast by paint brush or a needle and thread, down deep the magic comes from the heart.

Battle Creek, MI artists Jennifer and Joe Takens work all year on the event. “We pour so much energy into creating an experience for the show goers.  Our simple recipe for making a magical show has proven to delight Halloween collectors, bringing them to Bewitching Peddlers from across the country.” Commented Jennifer Takens.  The show has in fact gained national recognition as the premier Halloween fine art show in the country. “We are pleased to bring the show closer to home this year to Marshall, MI and we look forward to sharing the charming town with our collectors” said Joe Takens.

Situated in a cozy barn within the historic Calhoun County Fairgrounds, Bewitching Peddlers is pure enchantment. The barn is transformed into something magical, a vessel for the many artists who look forward to sharing their unique flavor of Halloween every year. Artists converge upon Bewitching Peddlers to tell their story. As they unfold their artwork and begin to set up, it is as if by magic, the artists create an environment for their work and not just a table to display their works on.   Art spills out into the barn, which a simple structure on its own but for this one day, the veil of Halloween magic is lifted for a short time.  Featuring many mediums from pottery, art dolls, sculpture, wearable art, folk art, Illustration, paintings, spun cotton, metal, and soft sculpture, Bewitching Peddlers is sure to please collectors and Halloween enthusiasts alike.  Collectors have discovered the joy in attending this event in hopes of snapping up original art that cannot be found in stores.  Building on their collections each year, customers appreciate the fact that everything is handmade and delight in the abundance of creativity.

There is no formal application process for Bewitching Peddlers of Halloween. While Jennifer and Joe receive hundreds of inquiries about participating in the show, artists are hand selected. This is to ensure the exquisite quality of artwork presented and the energy of the show. The artists who have been hand curated for the 2018 show will not simple set up a table showing their wares, each artist crates an enchanting environment for their work.  The artists of Bewitching Peddlers prove that a magical wand can be a paintbrush, casting a spell of enchantment.  Each artist is a vessel for a story. A story that is captured inside and seeks to find its way out into the world. If only for one day, the artwork is shared, the excitement soaked in, and the stories feed the Halloween soul….
