Nulu Bicycle Company has ribbon cutting

Marshall Area Economic Development Alliance and Chamber proudly celebrated the grand opening of Nulu Bicycle Company in downtown Marshall and their new membership in the Marshall Chamber with a ribbon cutting presentation on May 24.

Len Parmenter has turned his life’s passion into a very personal endeavor, Nulu Bicycle Company. Nulu was Len’s grandfather’s last name. “I want to honor the memory of my grandfather who taught me how to use the machinery I use to make and repair bikes,” Len stated. “My lion logo represents the Finnish lion of my ancestry.”

Nulu Bicycle Company sells new bicycles carrying such brands as Detroit Bike, State Bicycle Company and Ellsworth and is working to build up the in-store inventory. Full-service repair, maintenance, parts, and accessories are also available. “I pride myself in fast turn-around times since I want you to enjoy your bike, not hold it hostage in my shop,” indicated Len.

Len has vast experience building custom frames utilizing the TIG welding process. He is working toward being licensed to provide custom frames for on-road use.

An avid bicyclist, Len intends to coordinate a variety of group rides at different locations. Currently, the public is welcome to join in a group ride every Tuesday at 7:00 p.m. These are fun and friendly events with a “No Drop” policy that makes sure no one is left behind. Visit the Nulu Bicycle Company Facebook page for details and location.

Enjoy the ride! Visit Len at Nulu Bicycle Company at 131 W. Michigan Ave. in downtown Marshall or call 269-248-6262. For more information check out their website, www.nulubikes.com, and like them on Facebook.
