The Grand Kickoff: The Soup Showdown
Before you dive into the week's special menus, you have to attend the ultimate opening ceremony. On Saturday, February 21, the festivities officially begin with the Soup Showdown.
Hosted by the legendary Dark Horse Brewing Co. and Choose Marshall, this event turns the Beer Garten into a heated (and very tasty) competition.
When: Saturday, February 21 | 12:00 PM – 4:00 PM (Tasting from 1–4 PM)
Where: 511 S. Kalamazoo Ave, Marshall, MI
Price: $15 per person
What to expect:
Local restaurants will gather to battle for the title of "Best Soup." For just $15, you get to sample 10 different soups and cast your vote across four different categories. It’s the perfect way to warm up, support local businesses, and decide which restaurant you want to visit later in the week!
Why You Can't Miss Restaurant Week
Following the showdown, Marshall Restaurant Week keeps the momentum going through March 1. It’s a fantastic opportunity to:
Try Something New: Many participating spots offer "off-menu" specials or curated multi-course meals specifically for this week.
Support Local: Marshall’s dining scene is built on passionate, independent owners. This week is all about celebrating their hard work.
Explore the Town: Between meals, you can take in a show or wander through the historic downtown shops.
If you're coming for the Soup Showdown, make sure to check out other nearby events like the Tinsley Ellis in Concert or the Winter Wine-Down Wellness Event later in the month.
Grab your friends, bring your appetite, and we'll see you next week!
