The grand opening of MI Thrift by Volunteers of America Michigan (VOAMI) in Marshall, Michigan (15863 W. Michigan Avenue in Marshall, MI 49068) will take place on Thursday, September 25. The public is invited to attend the brief grand opening ceremony with speeches and ribbon cutting at 8:45 a.m. on Thursday morning. From Thursday through Saturday the store will be open for shopping from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m., with grand opening festivities taking place from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. each day. During these hours, all shoppers will receive one raffle ticket (must be 18 or over) for prizes including a Yeti® Cooler, flat screen TV, rocking chair, and gift baskets - you do not need to be present to win, and winners will be selected and contacted on Monday, September 29. Additionally, $10 store gift cards to be given out hourly; there will be free kids games/activities and coloring contest; free popcorn, candy, cotton candy and water will be provided; shoppers can purchase items from food and ice cream trucks; and there will be 25%, 50% and 75% off color tag items. The 40,000 square foot store is VOAMI’s newest and largest thrift store, newly rebranded “MI Thrift” (pronounced MY Thrift), introduces a fresh identity that reflects the heart of the Michigan communities it serves. Prior to the grand opening date, the store is accepting donations from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Proceeds from VOAMI thrift stores support critical services for veterans, seniors and families in the state of Michigan, including serving veterans in Calhoun County and senior housing in Calhoun County.
