Stuart's Tablets

Stuart’s Dyspepsia Tablets

Stuart’s Dyspepsia Tablets were a popular antacid medicine used throughout the entire United States in the early 1900s. When Alka-Seltzer hit the market in 1931, advertising made people believe the effervescent bubbles made the product work better. You might remember Alka-Seltzer’s popular jingle “Pop! Pop! Fizz! Fizz! Oh what a relief it is!” F. A. Stuart was not willing to add the unnecessary ingredient and eventually went out of business.
