The Marshall Area Economic Development Alliance (MAEDA)/Choose Marshall held a We Noticed Ribbon Cutting presentation to congratulate Choose Marshall Chamber Member, Schuler’s Royal Hotel & Apartments.  The five-room boutique hotel above the historic Marshall restaurant is now open and accepts reservations for overnight stays.

Sue Damron, Schuler’s President and CEO is excited to offer something that Schuler’s hasn’t been able to do in 50 years. “This space above the historic Schuler’s Restaurant has served as storage space over the years and has now been converted to overnight lodging once again.   People can do something they haven’t been able to do in a very long time at historic Schuler’s — stay in a hotel room.”   The name “The Royal Hotel” was chosen to honor the original hotel that stood at the corner of Eagle and Green Streets and hosted hundreds of visitors before it closed in the 1970s.  Damron added, “The five hotel rooms have been thoughtfully designed and decorated with a sophisticated and modern look and range in size from 190 – 370 square feet. Each room has a Keurig coffee maker, a 55-inch smart TV, air conditioning, WiFi, walk-in showers and large exposed windows. All five rooms have mini fridges and two of them also have bar sinks.  One unit is Americans with Disabilities Act compliant. The Grand Suite, which is the largest room, has separate living and bath areas.”

While the rooms are modernized, some history is being kept. Each room is named for a historic street in Marshall: Jefferson, Hamilton, Grand, Eagle and Mansion. There is also a burgundy accent wall inside each unit to keep it true to the Schuler’s colors.

Joe Caron, Schuler’s General Manager, commented, “We are proud that our hotel rooms will continue with the Schuler’s tradition of offering our guests an unforgettable experience. We invite you to enjoy all that our historic city has to offer, while staying in one of our beautifully restored rooms.”

In addition to The Royal Hotel, the Schuler’s team is pleased to have added seven new apartments to the historic restaurant building as part of the overall revitalization project. The Royal Apartments were completed in December 2022 and residents moved in during January 2023. The apartments range from 675 to 1,600 square feet. There is a private entrance, an elevator and small lounge area in the foyer, all available for use by hotel guests and apartment residents.

The Royal Hotel Apartments at Schuler’s are located at 115 South Eagle Street in downtown Marshall.  Room availability, rates and reservations can be made on the Schuler’s website schulersrestaurant.com, or by calling the restaurant’s front desk at 269.781.0600 Follow the business on Facebook.com/SchulersRestaurant.
