Choose Marshall Chamber Holds Ribbon Cutting to Welcome Oaklawn's Pharmacy
The Marshall Area Economic Development Alliance (MAEDA)/Choose Marshall held a ribbon cutting ceremony to welcome Oaklawn Hospital’s Pharmacy. Oaklawn Hospital is excited to announce the opening of its new pharmacy downtown Marshall.
Oaklawn Hospital is excited to announce the opening of its new pharmacy downtown Marshall. This addition marks an important step in the hospital’s commitment to providing accessible, high-quality care to the Marshall community and surrounding areas. The new pharmacy offers convenient prescription services, medication counseling and consultations, health and wellness products and over-the-counter medications. The pharmacy is in the back of the Brooks Building downtown Marshall, which was formerly Oaklawn’s Dialysis Center. Recently, both Marshall’s Rite Aid and Kmart pharmacies have closed, allowing Oaklawn the opportunity to fill the need of having an additional pharmacy in the Marshall area. Customers who are Oaklawn patients will benefit from the ability to coordinate prescriptions with other Oaklawn services.
Oaklawn is actively working to expand its pharmaceutical insurance coverage options to ensure a seamless experience for all customers. Dr. Theresa Dawson, Chief Nursing Officer at Oaklawn Hospital, stated, “While we’re starting with limited insurance coverage as we continue to finalize credentialing with additional insurance providers, we look forward to welcoming everyone as we grow our network. We look forward to helping the community with their pharmaceutical needs.”
Oaklawn is not new to operating a pharmacy. For years, there has been a pharmacy located within the hospital serving Oaklawn staff, hospice and in-patients. Pharmacist Joe Young, who has been with Oaklawn for 14 years, said he and the Oaklawn team are excited to move the existing pharmacy from inside the hospital. “Our goal is to become a full-service pharmacy contracting with as many insurance providers as possible while making essential medications more accessible and affordable to our community. Our team of pharmacists will offer professional advice and support to help you understand and manage your medications effectively and empowering you with the knowledge you need to make informed health decisions.”
The pharmacy is located at 310 East Michigan Avenue in Marshall. To learn more about services and accepted insurance plans call the pharmacy at 269.789.8999 or visit oaklawnhospital.com.
