The Marshall Area Economic Development Alliance (MAEDA)/Choose Marshall held a New Member Ribbon Cutting Presentation for Neighborhoods Inc. Battle Creek (NIBC).
NIBC is a non-profit organization that offers additional opportunities for housing support for homeowners and renters. Its mission is to promote healthy homes and neighborhoods by providing services and educational programs focused on low-income families in Battle Creek.
Arturo Puckerin, NIBC’s new President and CEO stated, “We’re excited to continue expanding the scope of NIBC housing and human services to our Calhoun County families, friends and neighbors. We assist those in need with everything from lending and loan servicing to housing development and rehab and rental property management. Stable homes are the very foundation of a strong community.” He added, “The issue is not only affordability but access too. We want to bridge disparity barriers in our area. “
NIBC’s four program lines include: housing development and rehabilitation, homebuyer education and financial coaching, rental property management, and lending and loan servicing. Each of these programs caters to specific needs and interests of the community. They offer affordable and exceptional, high-quality housing opportunities that attract families to purchase and lease homes throughout the city. This, in turn, provides the workforce needed to retain industry and attract even more residents, jobs, and business to Calhoun County.
NIBC is directed by its CEO, Arturo Puckerin, along with a staff of highly experienced, cross-trained, and compassionate professionals that serve the Calhoun County community. They are located at 47 N. Washington Ave. in Battle Creek. Office hours are Monday through Friday 9am-4:30pm. Contact them at 269-968-1113, find them on Facebook at NIBC, or visit their website at https://nibc.org.
