The Marshall Area Economic Development Alliance (MAEDA)/Choose Marshall held a ribbon cutting to welcome The Salem Workshop as a new chamber member.
Retired Detroit Police officer, Matt Taylor, recently opened The Salem Workshop, a computer repair and tech support service serving Marshall and Calhoun County. The new business offers free estimates on computer repairs, hardware upgrades, tech support, system builds, troubleshooting, and the recycling and upcycling of hardware.
After 23 years in law enforcement with 12 of those years on the Detroit Police Bomb Squad, Taylor decided to move to his wife’s hometown to start his new career. Given his technical training, he saw the need for this type of business in the Calhoun County area. “I’m very excited to be in Marshall and providing a valuable service. I can come to your home, or you can bring your equipment to the shop.” He added, “I know many people wonder what to do with their old hard drives. I can easily do a memory swipe for your personal security. I also know many folks struggle with printer compatibility, and I can assist you with that service too.”
Taylor is very pleased to be in Marshall and appreciates his partnership with the Choose Marshall Chamber. “They have been nothing but helpful at every turn by assisting me in getting established, to now growing my business. My goal is to bring professional and technical wisdom that is normally associated with a larger company to the average consumer or small business and make it affordable for all.”
