The Marshall Area Economic Development Alliance (MAEDA)/Choose Marshall held a ribbon cutting to welcome Shafer Redi-Mix as a new chamber member.
Shafer Redi-Mix has been a family-owned business for over 40 years. With six computerized plants centrally located in southern Michigan, they are positioned to supply Redi-Mix concrete, equipment, supplies, aggregate materials and assist customers across the tri-state area. General Manager, Gary Kelley, commented, “We have a comprehensive supply of concrete tools, supplies, and chemicals to suit any construction project. We offer everything from Redi-Mix concrete, precast septic tanks, residential and commercial mix designs, colored concrete, grout, pervious concrete, and flow fill to decorative concrete stamps. We have the products you need to make your job easier. Our fully automated plants are monitored and dispatched from our central dispatch to ensure accurate mixture, consistency, and quality.”
Shafer leads Michigan and the Midwest concrete industry in modernization and integrating technology into base processes. Their plants have a Total Quality Management (TQM) structure and are committed to providing the highest levels of quality and service in the industry. As an industry leader, they employ sales staff and dispatchers who are well-trained, knowledgeable and ACI certified. Shafer owner, Doug Shafer, stated, “We are absolutely committed to delivering unparalleled quality and service.”
Shafer is preparing to expand soon to the Marshall Industrial Park. The company continues to grow and is looking to build new corporate offices and will be adding an additional concrete plant as well. Shafer plans to build a $10 million state of the art concrete facility capable of handling the largest concrete projects. Kelley added, “We currently have six locations servicing mid-Michigan markets. Our new Marshall location is only the beginning of our future expansion plans.”
