The Marshall Area Economic Development Alliance (MAEDA)/Choose Marshall held a New Chamber Member Presentation and Ribbon Cutting to welcome Solitude & Company, a new boutique gift store, to downtown Marshall.
Store owner, Angie Bidwell, recently opened Solitude & Company, a self-care, well-being, feel-good store after she sold her hair salon, Turning Point, in 2019, which she owned and operated for fourteen years.
When designing the store concept, Bidwell looked for bath, body, home, and leisure merchandise that would boost confidence, productivity, and mental health for men, women, and children. Bidwell commented, “I would like to offer my customers products that aid in providing comfort in solitude and joy in the company of others.” She added, “I love people and helping them when I can.” She is there to offer guidance and help customers find what they need. She encourages questions and feedback on the products in her store.
Some of the distinctive items found at Solitude & Company are a large selection of the popular Ravensburger brand puzzles, stylish jewelry, microwavable soft plush items, throws, slippers, candles, special occasion, or holiday items and more! She also offers several lines of professional brand cosmetics, lotions, cosmetic tools, and hair care products. With over thirty years’ experience in the retail and beauty industry, Bidwell is able to help customers with their individual concerns or issues. She also has available many testers and samples.
Eventually, she plans to offer for purchase, wine, coffee, and teas. She hopes Solitude & Company is a nice addition to the retail stores in downtown Marshall.
Solitude & Company is located at 119 W. Michigan Ave in downtown Marshall. It is open Tuesday through Saturday 10am-6pm. Contact Bidwell at 269-558-8055 or on Facebook at www.facebook.com/solitudecompany or Instagram at @solitudeco_angie.
