The Marshall Area Economic Development Alliance (MAEDA)/Choose Marshall held a ribbon cutting to welcome The Millhaven as a new chamber member.

Venue and market owner, Jenn Ederer, opened The Millhaven late last year in historic Marshall.  Ederer has since transformed the old granary mill and garden center spaces, once known as OERTHERS, into a European inspired gourmet market, garden center and event venues.   Ederer, with over 20 years of event industry experience, is also the owner of the Greencrest Manor venue located in Battle Creek.

Ederer is grateful for this opportunity in Marshall and is excited to be a part of the community.  “We are humbled and overjoyed to be the new caretakers of this exceptional property and bring about a “rebirth” so the entire property can live up to its full potential and service the community with loving hands.”  One of Ederer’s and her teams’ greatest joys is reimagining a space into its full and beautiful potential, and breathing new life into things that were otherwise forgotten. The once-abandoned pickle factory, located on the property to the east of the mill and built in 1897, is being completely renovated and repurposed and will offer a unique wedding venue and large event space with an industrial-chic charm and finishing touches of elegance.  She commented, “This space is rich with history, and along with the greenhouse and beer garden, will create a one-of-a-kind experience where one can now celebrate life’s everyday blessings and special events.  In everything we do, we seek to master the art of gathering people in a welcoming and high-touched environment where people feel loved and cared for.  Our hope is that what we’re building at The Millhaven will create a positive ripple effect in this quaint community that will become a part of its beautiful history.”

In addition to the event space, customers will find unique gifts and home décor pieces in the newly renovated market and garden center.

The Millhaven invites the community to gather for Tasty Tuesday on July 25 from 4:30-9pm.  This family friendly community event will feature several food trucks, live music, and signature cocktails.  The food trucks will offer everything from gourmet grilled cheese, tacos, pulled pork/brisket to charcuterie boards and garlic bread sandwiches.

Following the Tasty Tuesday event, The Greenhouse Café, located in the adjacent greenhouse, will welcome guests on Wednesday, July 26 for light bites, charcuterie boards and refreshing spirits.  In the coming weeks, the Café is exited to offer a new take on the traditional dining experience by offering unique themed and chef guided dinners combined with wine pairings,  bourbon tastings, as well as charcuterie boards.  Follow the Café’s progress on social media to learn about the updates and exiting news to come.

The Millhaven is located at 311 West Spruce Street in Marshall.  It is open Tuesday through Friday 11am-6pm and Saturday 9am-2pm.  Contact the store at 269.781.4040 or visit themillhaven.com. Follow the market/café/venue on Facebook and Instagram.
