The Marshall Area Economic Development Alliance (MAEDA)/Choose Marshall welcomed the Battle Creek Battle Jacks as a new Chamber Member with a Ribbon Cutting at the newly named MCCU Field at C.O. Brown Stadium.
The Battle Creek Battle Jacks, formerly known as the Battle Creek Bombers, have undergone many changes in the last year. In 2021 Bombers’ Managing Partner, Brian Colopy, purchased the Northwoods League franchise and extended its lease at the C.O. Brown Stadium through 2026. With that announcement, came a name change, a new sponsor (Marshall Community Credit Union), and upgrades to the stadium and field.
Fans will notice the field received a facelift, and the newly renovated left field deck, is now named the ‘Bud Light Dog House.’ Tyler Shore, Battle Jacks’ General Manager, commented, “We are excited to now offer an upgraded experience for group outing and events in the ‘Dog House’. We also took the first four rows of the main grandstand bleacher seats and added food and drink rails. This allows fans more leg room at their seats and a place to put their concessions. We also built a whiffle ball field in the green space down the right field line for children of all ages and the ‘Kids’ Zone’ will soon gain three new inflatables.” He added, “We want to create a fun family-friendly and affordable experience for our fans! A place families can come to create those special and lasting memories. Our cheapest ticket is $10. We also want the business community to think of us as an awesome and easy place to hold employee outings. We offer a turn-key experience.”
The Battle Jacks play 36 home games this season. The Northwoods League prepares college players for the Major Leagues and players are recruited from all over the country and live with host families in the Battle Creek area. The Battle Jacks are currently tied for first place with the Kalamazoo Growlers.
The Battle Creek Battle Jacks play their home games at the MCCU Field at C. O. Brown Stadium located at 189 Bridge Street in Battle Creek. View their game schedule and buy tickets online at www.battlejacksbaseball.com or call 269-962-0735 for more information.
