Light Up Marshall Tree Lighting Ceremony

Marshall is ready to light up the downtown trees!

All are invited to the Light Up Marshall tree lighting ceremony on Thursday, October 24 at 7:00 p.m. to celebrate the lighting of the trees in downtown Marshall and to thank the generous donors that made this project possible.

The ceremony will include musical entertainment provided by Tish Gancer, Julie Peckham, Tony Skidmore, Jeff Szekely and Dennis Smith of the Marshall Brass Quartet, welcome by Mayor Joe Caron, comments and presentation of the donor plaque given by Caryn Drenth, MAEDA Chair and ceremonial lighting of the trees. The brief event will be followed with social time and cookies courtesy of Pastrami Joe’s.

Thanks to generous donations from numerous community members, 48 of the Cleveland Select Pear trees that line downtown Michigan Avenue will be lit all year long, adding a welcoming glow from dusk to dawn. Illuminating the historic beauty of historic Marshall every day will attract and welcome visitors and residents alike to our community.

The event will take place in downtown Marshall outside of Kate’s Diner, 129 W. Michigan Ave. Contact the Marshall Welcome Center for details, 269-781-5163.
