MAEDA prepares for new leadership

The Marshall Area Economic Development Alliance (MAEDA) has announced the resignation of Scott Fleming, CEO. “It has been a pleasure to lead this organization the past four years,” said Fleming. “The MAEDA team we have built is strong and passionate about continuing to move Marshall forward as the premier place to live, work and visit.”

During his time as CEO, Fleming has been influential in establishing and carrying out the MAEDA strategy, and coordinating the relationships among departments under the MAEDA umbrella: economic development, tourism and chamber of commerce.

The current MAEDA team includes marketing director Amy Crisp, who has been instrumental in implementing the choosemarshall.com website, growing Marshall’s social media presence and marketing the city to locations throughout the state and country; economic development coordinator Kierith Kurth, who has worked with Fleming to attract new businesses to the area, played a key role in the completion of the Cronin building grant funding, and assists the Marshall Manufacturers Association; tourism director Kimber Thompson, who is spearheading the launch of the Marshall Trolley Company and manages numerous area-wide events, with the goal of increasing tourism and hotel stays in Marshall; chamber director Jane Reid, who manages membership, benefits and the popular Annual Chamber Dinner; and visitor services representatives Lynn Gruber and Patti Hudson, who welcome and assist Marshall residents and tourists, and are an integral part of day-to-day office responsibilities.

“We thank Scott for his contributions and dedication to the Marshall area the last several years,” said Caryn Drenth, MAEDA Board Chair. “We greatly appreciate the enthusiasm he has brought to building MAEDA into the successful and strong organization it is today and wish him the best in his future endeavors.”
