Marshall Expands Social District

Marshall Expands Social District

The Marshall City Council recently voted to expand the newly established Marshall Social District to include most of the downtown. The Social District program allows patrons to purchase and consume alcoholic beverages, in outdoor common areas, from participating establishments.

The goal of the Social District is to provide restaurants an opportunity to serve a larger number of people while the state is limiting indoor capacity due to COVID-19. Expanding the Social District encourages patrons to visit the downtown parks, shop at stores that allow drinks inside, and enjoy other outdoor entertainment. A map of the Social District, boundaries and permitted businesses can be found at www.choosemarshall.com/socialdistrict.

“The City of Marshall recognizes the need to do everything possible to help local businesses during these trying times. The Marshall Social District is an opportunity to support restaurants by offering additional services and options for our community and visitors,” stated Mayor Joe Caron.

The Marshall Social District is now open every day from noon-10pm. For more information about this and other Marshall events, visit www.choosemarshall.com or call 269-781-5163.
