MAEDA launches Marshall Trolley Company

The Marshall Area Economic Development Alliance (MAEDA) has announced the launch of the Marshall Trolley Company to support MAEDA tourism and economic development initiatives.

Funded by grants from the Cronin Foundation, the Marshall Community Foundation (MCF), the Calhoun County Visitors Bureau (CCVB) and support from MAEDA, the Marshall Trolley Company will assist MAEDA’s commitment to make the community the place to live and visit. “We love the historic charm of the trolley and feel it will be a great draw to people looking to stay and play in Marshall,” said Caryn Drenth, MAEDA Board of Directors Chair. “Providing travel between area hotels and our wonderful shops and restaurants will benefit guests and area businesses.  In addition, various custom tours scheduled throughout the year will be yet another way to enhance the Marshall visitor experience. MAEDA is so appreciative of the generous donations from area organizations and their continued support of our goals.”

By providing a service and entertainment to tourists and residents alike, the Marshall Trolley Company also will complement the missions and goals of the contributors. The Cronin Foundation was created to support and expand educational, social, economic, civic and cultural needs of the community. The MCF mission includes improving the quality of life in Marshall and surrounding communities by serving as a conduit for special projects and distribution of grants for innovative programs. Dedicated to enhancing the Calhoun County economy through tourism, the CCVB generates increased visitor spending, local tax receipts and job development.

Unveiled at the 55th Annual Marshall Christmas Parade, the Marshall Trolley will begin making complimentary scheduled “loops” from hotels to stops through town on Friday, January 24 from 5-11pm and Saturday, January 25 from 5-11pm. The scheduled route will have extended hours Friday, January 31 and Saturday, February 1 during Ice, Wine, Beer & Blues.
