Verona Pump Station Improvements
Increased pumping capacity of 5 MGD will be added to the existing Verona Pump Station owned and operated by the City of Battle Creek.
The Verona Pump Station Improvements consist of the installation of two 300 horsepower (HP) vertical turbine pumps with variable frequency drives (VFDs) each rated at 3,472 gallons per minute (gpm) in existing open pump bays.
New yard piping, a standby power generator and remote monitoring telemetry are included along with electrical, controls and climate control upgrades.
The Verona Pump Station will will deliver up to 5 MGD of potable water through the City of Battle Creek system to the Emmett Township Loop Water Transmission Main (Project 7), VeronaLoop Water Transmission Main (Project 8) and the Battle Creek/Emmett Township Water Transmission Main (Project 4) to the Marshall Facilities Site near Michigan Avenue and 15 MileRoad.
