Water and Wastewater Infrastructure Expansion: Project 5: Sanitary Pump Station

Initial capacity of 3.5 million gallons per day and creates a system that can support future growth.

A Sanitary Pump Station (SPS) will be constructed at the Marshall Facilities Site located south of Michigan Avenue and west of 15 Mile Road. The SPS consists of a 12-foot diameter precast concrete wet well with three (3) submersible pumps each rated at 800 gallons per minute (gpm).

A standby power generator and remote monitoring telemetry are included. Wastewater generated within the MAJOR campus will flow by a gravity sewer extension to the SPS where it will be conveyed via the Sanitary Sewer Force Main (Project #6) to the City of Marshall Wastewater Treatment Plant (Project #10).

Design of the SPS provides flexibility to accommodate increased flow from future growth in the MAJOR campus and Marshall Township.
